gay marriage laws.. laws on what people can watch on TV.. or buy in a store.. prayer in schools.. christmas celebrated in school over any other belief... nativity scenes on public property.. crosses in cemetary entrances that hold the dead of other faiths..etc. etc.. etc

I agree.Because they are. There's more to 'shoving beliefs down someone's throat' than preaching or trying to convert them. I don't mind that much.

There are Christians and Atheists on this forum for example, who do nothing but insult each other, it's called immaturity and inability to accept the fact that we by our very nature will subscribe to different beliefs as individuals.
Neither group is innocent when it comes to intolerance, intolerance is universal.
If someone has strong religious beliefs, they're not going to be swayed by the ramblings of an Atheist to believe otherwise. Likewise, if someone has strong Atheist beliefs, they're not going to be swayed by the ramblings of some religious zealot.
There are those who are comfortable with their own beliefs and find no need to disrespect someone else. I for one can accept the fact that not everyone will think like me and I see diversity as something positive, not negative.Would you like to see all my emails from so-called christians? Personally, I don't assume everyone is trying to shove their belief down my throat; I think the ones who talk about it are going about their own business.
