  • I missed that memo

  • Oh by coincidence you mean a cancerous tumor disappearing, a dead person's spirit being called back into their body after being dead for 3 days,an amputated leg growing back, seeing through a glass eye, a baby being born without a brain now a fully functioning teenager, all psychiatric patients in a hospital being completely healed of all mental illness in a day and released. Do you mean those kinds of coincidences are were you just talking about miracles in general?

  • it makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside i guess.

  • They need some "proof" for thier god.

  • Grasping at straws.

  • A true Miracle would be your account being suspended.

  • sorry to hear that.....you are so misinformed

  • If just one prophecy was fulfilled then it may be a coincidence, but how about 9 prophecies recently fulfilled in Bible prophecy? This would be undeniable. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then you are one of those who close their eyes to the truth. Check out "understanding the endtime" for free.

  • you've missed more than the memo *snaps fingers*

  • poor things, they are very impressionable and easily led. my heart goes out to them it really does..

  • okay, so your labelling tumors that dissapeared, diseases being cured, social/legal problems that have very low possibliities of being solved....all of these are coincidences?

there are hundreds of books recorded by these regular people across the world, with evidence such as doctor notes, xrays, testimonies, etc

ps you cannot demand a miracle as it is mentioned in the bible

  • It's only in your mind and in the minds of all unbelievers that any miracles they might hear about is of course a coincidence. You are just assuming this without knowing.

I can also ask why is it that no matter what you say to an Atheist, he still stands by his unbelief? No matter what evidence, he still refuses to believe. God won't do a huge miracle to make them believe right in front of them because that is not his nature. He answers those who seek his face, those who believe and those who honor him.

  • So far, I've yet to see a random coincidence that I considered a miracle. The miracles I saw always happened after a set series of actions being done before hand, including prayer and asking for it. So, when someone prays and asks for help, and something happens that shouldn't have that helps, that's not exactly random.

But I suppose some folks do see the hand of God guiding things in every day life as well. Bit different than a miracle though.

  • Coz they drink Kool - Aid

  • "Pattern" recognition is part of the human psyche.

  • why would you call miracles a random coincidence?

  • Why are miracles considered random coincidences by atheists?

  • Captain A:
It's a sad mixture of 'wishful thinking' and desperation. Since their god can never be proved by any scientific criteria, they jump on every mis-diagnosed illness, and every $100 dollar win on LOTTO as an answer to their prayers and proof that their god exists.

Yet NONE of them, (though I have questioned hundreds of miracle believers) can give a reasoned response to the question: Why, if god can produce miracles, has there NEVER, EVER, ANYWHERE been the totally PROVABLE miracle of a missing limb being 'regrown' through prayer or the action of a divine being??????

In miracle 'shrines' throughout the world one finds crutches, wheelchairs, canes....all left as "proof" that some illness has been cured by the patron saint of the shrine...but NEVER has anyone left a prosthetic device no longer needed because the missing limb grew back.

Does the god of Christianity not hear the prayers of paraplegics or even good Christian soldiers who lose a leg to a land mine???? Or doesn't he care????

The idea of 'miracles' posits an arbitrary god who provides miracles ONLY for those who claim to be his worshippers. Yet he never offers a totally PROVABLE miracle. Big fish swallowing men, or talking donkeys, just doesn't cut it!

The last "miracle" I heard of, first hand, was from a fervent believer in the stigmatic Padre Pio....the miraculous answer to her prayer????----- Padre Pio helped her sell her house "right before the blacks took over the whole neighborhood"!!!!!! So much for the 'miraculous mind-set'.

    Edit

    bibigirl:
You have spent entirely too much time reading the super-market tabloids. I challenge you to offer credible proof that ANY of those 'miracles' you claim actually happened!!!! Are you up to the challenge, or are you just blowing smoke up everyone's butt????

    Maars....

When did your god STOP offering 'big' miracles to convince non-believers???? It was his stock in trade throughout the Old Testament, and right into the new..."so that they may believe in the power of Yahweh"?????? Did the ancient pagans need more convincing than 21st century men and women????

  • People born without a brain living to be adult?
    Amputated limbs regrowing?

Where the hell do you hear these stories? There has never, EVER, been a single medically documented case of a lost limb being regrown. None. At all. Ever.

The other things you gave as examples of 'miracles' are simply unexplained. In the ignorant past of humans, we have regarded many things as miracles - only because we lacked understanding of how they occurred.

So you pray for something and then it happens... that does not prove anything. Now if you can document repeated prayers for unlikely things that were all granted - without exception - then THAT would start to be proof of prayer/miracles.

This doesn't happen, and there is a reason why...
