how much would i be paying for $400,000 life insurance...(i'm going into the ARMY as a Special Forces recruit (18x)....would i have to pay more because i'd be put into more dangerous situations? thanksThe highest amount of SIGLI is $400,000. It cost $27.00 per month paid by allotment.
The cost is the same regardless of branch or MOS.no... it is a flat rate for everyone... everyone who chooses 300K pays the same, everyone who chooses 500K pays the same... etc
It comes out as part of your deductions. It was only like $16 a month when I was in. SGLI covers everyone the same. Whether they are some punk chairborne "warrior" or their a grunt. Either way it isn't much. It'll be listed under the deductions on your LES.$27 bucks a month no matter what your MOS isYou dont HAVE to pay more. You can make monthly payments for your SGLI as you choose.
If something happened to you, your family would be taken care of regardless; but if youd like more money you can do that if u choose
SGLI is 27 a month
Plus 5.50 for Family SGLIYo're SGLI is the same no matter what your specialty.
If you choose to get a private policy, and I seriously suggest you do, then yes, your premiums will be higher for higher risk specialties. For example, I took out a policy before I went to pilot training because it cost half of what I would have paid after starting training. In the US military it is $27 per month for $450,000 SGLI. you pay less if you want less. It doesn't matter what job you hold it is the same rates across the board.
FSGLI is for up to $100,000 for spouses and the rate that is paid there varies on age of the spouse. but under $15 per month. Children get $10,000 for free.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
