  • Where do you find not-for-profit board listings?

  • Are looking for the boards of directors for a particular non-profit or a directory of that type of information?

  • Hello Southernbell, As is often the case, even the most arcane sorts of information wind up having a home -- somewhere -- on the interet. In the case of nonprofit organizations, the place to turn to for Board of Director listings, and all sorts of other information, is the Guidestar webpage at: http://www.guidestar.org/ Towards the top of the page, you will see some clickable text that says: "Search for more than 850,000 IRS-recognized nonprofits" That's the button you want. Just enter the name of the organization, and Guidestar will take you to a summary page of information, with links to more complete information -- including Board listings. For instance, entering "Red Cross" in the "name of organizations" search box pulls up: American National Red Cross 430 17th St NW Washington, DC 20006 https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation-form.asp On the left of the page is a set of links for more information, including one called "Leaders". Clicking on this takes me directly to a list of about 50 very distinguished-looking names of the Red Cross Board of Directors. I'll also mention a link for many nonprofits to something called Form 990. This is a form filed with the IRS that has a full set of the organization's financial information, as well as a lot of information about organizational leadership -- including a list of the Board of Directors. If for some reason the Board listing is not on the Guidestar site, then the Form 990 is a good backup option. I hope this answers your question fully, but if you need more information, just let me know through a "Request for Clarification".
